  • How to mud drywall?

    When mudding drywall, it is referring to the process of using a wet drywall compound that looks like a white type of mud. Drywall mud is used to fill in cracks and to smooth over taped areas. This wet compound requires a minimum drying time of 24 hours. Once it is dried it can then be carefully sanded until a smooth and uniform finish is achieved.

  • How to tape drywall?

    Applying tape to drywall is an art form that takes years to perfect. The tape is used to cover the cracks in between the sheets of drywall. In order to attain a smooth finish the tape must be applied as evenly and as uniformly as possible. Failing to do so will result in very obvious defects on the finished surface. Once the tape is properly applied it will then be mudded and sanded multiple times. Taping and mudding is the most crucial aspect of drywall finishing, it is wise to leave this part to the professionals.  

  • How do you remove popcorn ceilings?

    Removing popcorn ceiling is never the most fun job in the world. It's messy, dusty, and worst of all, it can potentially contain asbestos. Safety is the number one priority when removing popcorn ceilings. These older styles of ceilings can be lightly sprayed with water then scraped off, but be prepared for a mess! 



  • How long does drywall mud take to dry?

    Drywall mud should be left to dry for a minimum of at least 24 hours. If you attempt to sand it prior to this amount of time you can disrupt the entire look of the surface and may need to start from the beginning all over again.

  • How to repair drywall?

    Drywall repairs can be performed in various manners, depending on the size, variety, and location of the damage. Dents can be smoothed over with compund and sanded smooth, while cracks and holes require more work. Holes that are smaller than 8"x 8" can usually be patched with a fibreglass patch, then mudded and sanded. Larger holes will need to be cut out by section and replaced.
